Get Sketchy

I had to play along this week for the Get Sketchy Challenge #13! This sketch was very cool and I had lots of ideas as soon as I saw it. I knew I wanted to use my Autumn Splendor stamp set and Autumn papers from Stampin' Up. For the bonus, I used dry embossing with the cuttlebug folder, then inked them with chocolate chip and real rust. I stamped the leaves with the same colors plus more mustard. Then I just wrapped it with a little hemp cord and used a cute sunflower button I had. The sentiment is from Unity Stamps. Thanks for the great sketch Bree! I hope I win this week, they have an awesome Glue Glider Pro Gun + refills up for the prize!! I could use that to replace my little tombow ;)

Apron Strings #10, RSC Oct & Unity Week #3

Happy Monday!
It's a gorgeous day in CA! Just wish I could be outside scrapping! Or be in a sun room. I love the warmth of the sun! But then I suppose I would get sleepy and want to take a nap and wouldn't get any scrapping done! hahaha :)
Ok, so no scrapping just card making here today!
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Apron Strings offered a challenge to make a pink card. I combined this challenge with the Rubber Stamp Chat Challenge HERE and also the Unity Bachelor Challenge Week #3, which was to use polka dots and plaid. I like how this polka dot/plaid card turned out much better than my previous one! I used my cricut to cut the scalloped circles and the paper is Making Memories. The ribbon is Maya Road.

Back to Basics: Lesson 4 & Friday Sketchers Week #71

For this card I combined the challenge from Back to Basics: Lesson 4on Paper Craft Planet and the Friday Sketchers Week #71 challenge sketch. For the back to basics I just had to do a little embossing so I picked my cool new Christmnas stamp set from my store Sweet Scrap Deal. I only used the trees because I also wanted to use my "Season of Blessings" stamp from Unity. I really liked this sketch and the way it turned out!

Midnight Madness MMSC20 & Cute Card Thursday 79

Since I am still behind =( I had to combine a couple more challenges! I combined Midnight Madness MMSC20 & Cute Card Thursday and I think they fit well together! The Cute Card Challenge was to use black & yellow. I just had to use my Frazzled? and crazy looking doll from Unity Stamp Co. for this one! haha Be sure to check out my sister in law's card HERE.

CPS Card Sketch Challenge 134

Here is the sketch for the CPS Card Sketch Challenge 134. I finally got to use my new September KOM from Unity. I love the pumpkin stamp! I had the perfect size mini buttons that fit right over the larger buttons. I had to use the packaging that my bevy of butterflies came in too :), that's the kraft paper in the middle. Be sure to check out my sister in law's card HERE.

Another Combo Challenge

I combined another 3 challenges together to help me catch up! :) I used The Sweet Stop Sketch with a Spin SSS22 which also needed to use the colors red, black and tan. I also made this card for the Unity Bachelor Challenge Week #2 { I missed the first week :( } which said to use: something SHINY - or GLITTERY, One piece of PATTERNED PAPER, 2 Buttons and must include Unity Stamps. The last challenge was for Simon Says Stamp Challenge in which case I needed to use stiching.
The colors worked out perfectly with my Budweiser bottle cap!

Camping at June Lake & Some Challenges

So, I went camping with my boyfriend and his wonderful family this last weekend. They decided on June Lake, CA. Galen and I had never been there so we weren't sure the best route to take. His step-dad gave us 3 routes to choose from. The route we picked was through Stockton, Sonora, Strawberry and up over the Sonora Pass. I do not recommend ANYONE to ever take this route! LOL! It was a winding road and had tons of switchbacks so we could only drive about 15-20 mph the whole way over it. The drive took us 7 1/2 hours. The way back was through Lake Tahoe, took us 4 1/2 hours. Much better and prettier too! I give this lake 5 stars. We enjoyed kayaking and hangin out by the campfire! Ok on to some challenges!! I got VERY behind while we were gone, so I had to combine some challenges...
I combined the challenges Mojo Monday, Moxie Fab World and Basic Grey Challenges.

I followed the sketch from Mojo Monday Week 105. I used Basic Grey Paper Periphery, a BG magnetic embellishment and BG Periphery ribbon and did some wet embossing on Unity's Bevy of Butterflies stamps. The challenge for Moxie Fab was to use some gradient color, or ombre, so that's the light and dark circles. Here's my finished card. Please leave me a comment when you stop by! Thanks for visiting and stay tuned for lots more! :)

Cuttlebug Challenge #48 - Card & A Gift Bag/CPS Challenge #133

This bag and card is for the Cuttlebug Challenge #48 - Card & A Gift Bag and the card also goes along with the CPS 133 card sketch challenge above. I made this set for my Mom's tea/quilting get together she is having. This goes along with the tea invitation HERE. She is planning on putting some fabric fat quarters into the little bag, which I think is a great idea! I think she'll fit at least 3 or 4 in there. The card is for my mom, just because. I'll give it to her when I give her all the invitations & bags. I thought is was very cool, I just happened to have a TEA POT stamp by Unity that fit on the bag perfectly! It's great when everything just comes together...wish that happened ALL the time! LOL :)

2 Challenges Today

Hi Everyone!
Sorry I've been super busy lately and haven't had time to make cards :( Last night was my boyfriend's work party downtown. It was so fun! Here's a picture of Galen & I all dressed up in our snazzy black and white.
For my cards I am behind a little so I had to mix my challenges together. I did a card using the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Sketch, and this card is also very special, it's for Kate. Kate is 5 and was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. My heart goes out to her and her family and they will all be in my prayers. I created it as part of the AiFactory Challenge to create cards for Kate. The Cards for Kate is being sponsored by Jennifer McGuire and you can read more about the card drive HERE.

I made this card for the Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #47. This was a fun challenge because I got to use my bird stamp from my Unity August kit of the month. I really love this hunter green from Stampin' Up. Hope you like it! :)

Friday Sketchers

Hi all! Another late night for me...oh probably because I drank a coke...why did I do that??!! Oh well, I made a card for Friday Sketchers for the first time. My sister came over and we worked on it together. Hers is super cute! We had fun working on them together. I hope one of us wins because these stamps are ah-dor-ah-ble. I would love to try coloring them with some copics. What a great excuse to go buy more markers!! :) Here is my card:

3 Challenges in ONE! :) Flourishes/Midnight Madness & Paper Maniac

Ok, so I decided to make just 1 card for three challenges...maybe because it was getting late and I didn't want to stay up until 3AM...or maybe because it was just because all three challenges went really well together! I made this card for the Flourishes challenge, Midnight Madness MMSC17 and the Paper Maniac Challenge.
The sketch above is from Midnight Madness, it is No. MMSC17.{oh! I had to turn the sketch so my stamp would fit!} The challenge for Flourishes was to create a card with no coloring. And Paper Maniac's very first challenge is to do some embossing. I used the sketch above, stamped in a very gorgeous Unity stamp, embossed it and filled it in with some glitter. I even embossed a piece of yellow trim in the background using a Fiskars punch (can you see it?) I love the colors on this card, hope you like it too! Time for bed now! :)

CPS Challenge 131 & Cupcake Craft Challenge

I decided to make this card for 2 challenges. The first one is for Cupcake Craft Challenges. Theirs is for a recipe: use 3 buttons, 2 papers, and 1 ribbon. I decided on the above papers because it had a "built in" pattern on it almost like another sheet of paper ;) heehee
I took advantage of this "built in" pattern and used it almost as a die cut for the CPS 131 Challenge. The stamp is a Unity Stamp Company stamp from the August KOM. I used some Zing embossing powder on the stamp. Here is the card I came up with for both challenges. Please let me know what you think! hugs :)
