Sweet & Simple Saturday #2 - Valentine Treat Bag

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for joining me on another Sweet & Simple Saturday tutorial. Today I'll show you how to make a quick and easy and super yummy treat bag.
You will need:

* One 4" x 10 1/2" piece of cardstock for treat bag cover (you can make 2 bags with one 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of cardstock)

*One design paper 3-1/2" x 3-1/2"
*One very vanilla or whisper white cardstock 3" x 3" (or matching cardstock)

*Scor-Pal™, or other scoring tool
* Scor-Tape™, or other strong adhesive (optional)

* Border Punch (optional)

* Stamps, I used Ippity's Because of You set

* Ink

* Ribbon

* Crop-a-dile™, or other hole punch

* 4" x 4" Cello Bag

* Candy to fill your cello bag

Score the cardstock at 4", 4-1/2", 5" and 9".

Fold cardstock in half at the 4 1/2" score line. Now fold the 4" and 5" score line in the opposite direction to create the bottom of the treat bag cover.

Fold the flap down and punch along the edge with a border punch if you'd like...

Stamp the outside of the cardstock.

Stamp your image and adhere it to the design paper. I also stamped and cut out a duplicate image and popped it up with dimensionals to give it a little extra pop. Then I used Stampin' Ups ticket corner punch on all the corners.

Add a strip of Scor-Tape™ on the score line under the flap. Place the candy filled cello bag on the cardstock.
Line the bottom of the cello bag up with the edge of the first score line, centering over the cardstock.
Fold the part of the cello bag that extends over the score line of the flap down.
Now fold up the cover front. Fold your flap down and punch a hole close to the center of the flap. Punch a second hole next to it.

Then thread your ribbon through the holes and tie your bow and wa-lah!

You have an adorable treat bag to give to someone you love! It's quite simple and fun to make! Here are some close-ups:

Hope you liked this week's tutorial and come back next week for another Sweet & Simple Saturday!

An Exciting Announcement & A Couple Pictures!

Hi Everyone!!

It's good to be back from vacation! Colorado was beautiful. It snowed a little and the blanket of white over the mountains was simply serene. I had a great time with my boyfriend's family. We hung out, ate, gambled a wee bit and played the Nintendo Wii!

Here is a picture of Pike's Peak:

And here is Galen & I out for a walk in this winter wonderland, the air was SO fresh and crisp! Can you tell I cut my hair??!! (WHY did I DO it?!...I'm not really happy with it, it's TOO short! Can't wait for it to grow back! LOL)

Limelight Papercrafts Sketch Challenge...

I decided to hurry up and do one more challenge before my trip tomorrow...er this morning lol! I need to get up in 5 hours so I need to make this fast. Man...5 days without scrapping or making cards - SHOOT. LOL! I hope I can survive. I know...I will look up all the scrapbook stores in the area where I'm going and bring mono adhesive and scissors. ;) HA!
Ok, so I found this challenge #34 hosted by Limelight Papercrafts and I love the giveaway so I thought I would play! Here is the sketch and the challenge was to use chipboard.

I used blank chipboard and covered the x's and o's with glitter. The heart I covered in brilliance white ink from Tsukineko, then stamped it with a flourish stamp from Unity in Taken with Teal by SU. I love the teal color, it's so brilliant. I stamped the Unity sentiment too with Taken with Teal...and I know it's cut off but I loved the font on this stamp! I dressed up the heart with some bling and also paper pierced the corners of the teal cardstock to finish it off.

And here is a close-up for your enjoyment:

I really love chipboard and all the fun things you can do with it! I hope I win because the prize is more chipboard! =D Have a great Thursday!

6th Grade Pic

Here is a layout I did for Design Dollies sketch challenge. This is a fun challenge site! You can combine their 3 weekly challenges into one project to get entered for all 3 monthly drawings! This would be the way to go, but I was a little pressed for time so I just did the sketch drawing. It was very cool and I'll be sure to be back! I used My Mind's Eye Dreamy paper which will be up in my store Sweet Scrap Deal this week, Heidi Swapp chipboard letters, Stampin' Up letters and Unity Stamps.
Yay! Another page in my childhood album DONE. ;)

I made this card using Unity's stamps from the Oct KOM. I love the quotes they come up with! This card is honor of Breast Cancer Awareness of course, but I also chose to use the card sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday and their color challenge.

Then I decided to kick it up a notch (thanks Emeril!) and add some sparkle because that's what the challenge is all about at Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog! I added some gold stickles to the sunshine and rock candy stickles(----> very cool!) to the pink ribbon.

...and a close-up...

Card: One Love One Life

Good Afternoon All!

I made this card for a couple challenges. First up is the Apron Strings color challenge which is to only use the colors in this picture:

The 2nd one is for the Etsy Inspired challenge #59, which is to be inspired by the shop called The Little Red Door. I picked one of their items for sale and got inspired! I picked this charming little country house.

The colors were perfect for my challenge and it reminded me of a shabby little church. So, that led me to my Unity Oct KOM stamps! I used ink distressing because the house looked a little like that with all the speckles. I created a "door" on the front of my card just because I was inspired to do that! :)Hiding behind the door is the church and inside the card I stamped one of Unity's sentiments, perfect for a "wedding" card.

Friday Friends with Flair!

Today is a great day!

One, because it's Friday Friends with Flair showcasing Unity Stamps, and two, I'm alive and healthy {thank you God}! I feel so blessed to have the life I have in this awesome free country. {Thanks to all our hardworking dedicated military personnel!}
I hope you're enjoying your Friday and the amazing creations by all these talented beautiful women that are participating in Friends with Flair! Be sure to stop by Unity's blog HERE to get the list of all the blogs.

I love Unity stamps because they are so unique. They have a very random wonderful selection of stamps in their kits! I love how they slipped in a few wedding stamps in the last two KOM's. I used a couple here on this layout (also 52 sketches...52 weeks challenge), which is a present for my friend Kwang who got married in August. I used the Mr. & Mrs. stamp and the "one love <3 one life" stamp in my journaling. (both are from the Sept & Oct KOM's)

And here's a close-up so you can really see those Unity stamps! :)

And in case you didn't get enough Unity yet...I inked up another stamp from the Oct KOM and used it on the cover of a travel album (Making Memories) I made for our vacations. I used a mask with some glimmer mist on the cover, some bling and thickers ( I love thickers!).

Friends with Flair Friday with Unity Stamp Co!

Today is Friends with Flair Friday and I'm so excited to be a part of it! Be sure to check out Angela's Blog HERE for all the other Friends with Flair participants!
Also, be sure to check out the sweet sale they are having at Unity until Sunday!

The fall card I'm sharing today features stamps from the Unity Sept KOM (kit of the month). I'm using these while anxiously awaiting the Oct KOM! :) I used distress ink on the background with a dobber, stamped it with my background stamp using Ranger distress embossing ink,(I need to get a Unity background stamp!...and since there is a sale, I'm going to!) then I used clear embossing powder on it. Then I went back over it with the same color distress ink. It just so happened to match my new fall papers I got from Stampin' Up! This card is also for the "Fall" challenge over at The Pink Elephant this week.

I stamped one of the heart flowers inside the card since the ones on the outside are only half stamped. And here is a close-up so you can see the embossing...

I also created this layout for 52 Sketches...52 Weeks. I used the round month stamp from the Unity Sept KOM since I needed a large circle image for that spot and that stamp fit perfectly!

Thanks so much for stopping by on Friends with Flair Friday! Be sure to check out my Sweet Deal on the Unity Oct Store Stamp Kit on my sidebar & enter my Halloween blog candy!

Unity Stamp Co. Bachelor Bro Challenge Week #4

I entered the Unity Stamp Co. Bachelor Bro Challenge Week #4. The challenge was to make a recipe card. I thought about doing a food recipe, but I couldn't think of one to do so I used another take on it and created a recipe for a "stud muffin". I thought it would be clever & cute LOL. Here is my recipe card:

And here is a close-up so you can see the crystal effects I added to the cupcakes.The embossed cupcake paper is KI Memories (Elsie), the green/brown patterned paper is from DCWV's Sweet Stack. I used a green Prisma Watercolor pencil to fill in the green accents. All the stamps are from Unity's August kit of the month and the August store kit of the month. I love these stamps!
